TOMATO KETCHUP

Picture
Tomato Ketchup is such a popular way to jazz up everything from fries to eggs. And of course there's nothing wrong with a bit of sauce on things (unless it's salmon - that's just not on!) especially if it's a home-made version without all the sugar. I have tested loads of recipes and finally found one that's super simple to make, economical, has NO sweeteners at all and yet is enjoyed by everyone. I have served it at school events - from a squeezy bottle of course - and had no complaints. If you want to transition at home keep the old branded bottle and gradually add in more and more of the home-made. Even better it keeps for ages in the fridge and you can freeze too.

Ingredients

  1. 340 gm tomato paste
  2. 4 tbs apple cider vinegar
  3. 1 tbs Dijon mustard
  4. ¼ cup water
  5. ½ tsp salt
  6. ¼ tsp cinnamon
  7. 1/8 tsp all spice
  8. ¼ tsp garlic powder

Method

  1. Mix all together
  2. For best results wait 24 hours
  3. Adjust water quantity for desired thickness

NOTE : Will keep for weeks in fridge. Freezes well too.
