The boys got soup in their thermoses today for I think the first time ever. I know that most people's first thought when I speak about warm thermos lunches is soup but I haven't sent it to school before. This is partially due to my husband who doesn't like soup (sigh) even though the rest of us do and so it's not something I regularly make. Although this is so thick it's far more like a stew (and so I thought he'd like it but, NO!). It's a vegetarian version of Mulligatawny and is soooo nice, chockers with veg and full of flavour. I added some grated cheese to up the protein, fat and general yumminess. It will be interesting to see what the boys thought. I also sent some home-made yoghurt and a persimmon which I cut up and of course chopped veg.
