My gorgeous Joe decided that as it was school holidays he'd cook the evening meal. Did the whole thing 100% unaided aside from some gentle supervision when requested. We have a beef & chorizo meatloaf, roasted beetroot & carrots, steamed greens, mashed parmesan potato & crispy kale. Not bad for a 7 y.o! He then begged to cook again (no, no). Thinking we may have to lobby the Govt for additional school holidays ... allowed me to work whilst he chopped & roasted. Best thing - using Dad's big knife ..... Joe's favourite thing to cook is veggies as they require the most chopping. Music to my ears ... and a lot of time saved for me too ... ![]() Max cooks too so I am reassured that when they are older they are at least able to put a meal on the table and don't have to resort to toast and take-aways.
